‹ Overscale RC / Wheel-Ball

RC cars. One giant ball.
RC cars, a giant ball and two goals. Hit it into theirs before they hit it into yours.
Wheel-Ball is still being worked on, and it’s changing fast. What’s here is the mode as it plays today.
The match
- 1 v 1 to 3 v 3One against one, two against two or three against three, against the computer.
- Five minutesA goal counts when the whole ball is over the line. Tied at the end? Sudden-death overtime.
- PracticeJust you and the ball, unlimited boost and no clock. Set up a shot and work on it.
The moves
- BoostEvery kickoff starts you with some. Powerslides fill it back up.
- Jump and dodgeJump, then jump again with the stick pushed to dodge that way.
- WallsThe arena’s walls hold the car, so you can drive up them.
- SupersonicBoost up to top speed. Hit someone like that and they’re knocked out for a few seconds.
- Static chargeCircle in a powerslide at full boost and the ball sticks to you. A hard hit knocks it loose.

The story

Sectionals. Regionals. Nationals.
While Anthony and Vincenzo planned their race, their brother Lucius and his wife Jozi had an idea of their own. Back in PahVahl, Jozi’s faraway home, kids threw a ball onto a field and had their cars play games with it. Lucius and Jozi bring that game to Connecticut, and call it Wheel-Ball.
Lucius runs El Viento Power, and together he and Jozi run Wheel-Ball. They need players to prove the league is real, so they can make it a national sport. That’s where you come in.
Sectionals
- VIM StadiumVincenzo built a stadium right in the middle of VIM Plaza, with cameras pointing down. Your first opponents: the VIM HR-Express, a team from the HR office at El Viento Financial.
- Butternut Hollow ParkThe local softball team, full of dads. They’re confident, and they want to impress their families.
- The high school fieldWheel-Ball takes over the local high school field. The football team isn’t happy, and joins in to show you what’s what.
- Middletown IndustrialOlivia finally found some peace in an old factory, where she can do her experiments. Then a ball came through her window. That’s it. She’s playing.
Regionals
- Cresponia ColiseumLucius and Jozi are impressed, and open up Regionals. First up: the Crespoville Crespos, cheerful creatures who love a good competition.
- Neo CanadaA high-tech town that broke away from Canada and settled in Connecticut. They’ll share their tech with Lucius and Jozi, but only if you beat them.
- Meriden Transfer StationJozi’s favorite photo from home ended up at the transfer station. The owner and his sons, Cletus and Magragoor, will play you for it. Lose, and he rips it up.
- Mythic Bay AquariumA day at the aquarium, with pizza after. Then a team that always plays in costume starts making fun of Jozi for going barefoot. Lucius is not happy. Win this one, and you’re off to Nationals.
Nationals
- VanDrek ObservatoryJozi always loved looking at the stars. This time, they looked back. A team from PahVahl wants to take Jozi home. Win, and they leave her be.
- Wallingford FarmWinona White, Tabitha’s boss at Summers Brew, opens up her farm for a friendly match. Her team: a rabbit with a monocle named Bunny Hunches, a living light bulb named Watson, and a robot named CrespoBot.
- Secret TempleWheel-Ball has caught the eye of Ernesto Viento, the family’s father. He sets up a match in front of a council he respects.
- East Haven BeachesThe last match of Nationals, on the beach. The team standing between you and the title is one you already know.
